The DENSO Cooperation, a global concern and supplier to the motor vehicle industry, decided in 2008 to extend its operating complex at the Aachen Engineering Center (AEC) in Wegberg by an additional laboratory and office building.
SchürmannSpannel AG (SSPAG) was commissioned with the general planning and project management for this capital investment project, which then in turn commissioned VIB as subcontractor for the project management.
For a capital investment volume of around EUR 19 million, a two-storey laboratory and office building was erected with a gross office space of around 4,000 m², which also included engine test stand, mechanical and electrical workshops, motor vehicle test stands as well as additional testing laboratories.
Not only the building, but also the fittings and furnishings were part of the project, and thus also of the project management.
The project management of VIB embraced all areas, from the organisation and coordination right through to the progress and cost controlling.
The new laboratory building was commissioned in August 2010, on schedule.
